HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaiian Word of the Day is Hulihe'e. Built in 1838, by then governor Kuakini, Hulihe'e palace was the residence of royalty while in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i. For a time, Princess Ruth Ke'elikolani lived there, as did Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole, and Kalakaua, who redoecorated and used it as a summer palace. In 1927, the Daughters of Hawai'i restored the Hulihe'e palace and made it a museum. The Hawaiian Word of the Day is Hulihe'e.
