KANEOHE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.S. Coast Guard and Marines on Tuesday rescued four people from a 38-foot sailing vessel that ran aground near Kaneohe Bay.
The operator of the Gypsy Runner called the Coast Guard around 11:15 p.m. Monday, saying the vessel was aground on the reef after losing power. The boat was also in danger of capsizing because of the low tide, the operator reported.
Coast Guard crews and Marines arrived on scene at 1 a.m. Tuesday where they were able to bring all four boaters to safety at the Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor.
There were no reports of any injuries or pollution from the vessel.
Crews will continue working on removing the Gypsy Runner.
