HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - For the second time in six career games, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota been named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday morning.
Mariota, returning to action after missing the team's previous two games with a left knee injury, completed 28-of-39 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns, with no interceptions, in Sunday's victory against the New Orleans Saints.
Mariota was particularly effective in crunch time for Tennessee. In the fourth quarter and overtime of Sunday's game, the Titans say Mariota completed 15-of-17 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns, with a passer rating of 145.1. His 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Anthony Fasano in overtime ended the game and gave Tennessee the win.
