HONOLULU (AP) - An Army medic in Honolulu is pleading not guilty after a federal grand jury indictment accused him of conspiring with his lover to kill his wife.

Sgt. Michael Walker was arraigned Thursday on murder and other charges in last year's death of his wife, Catherine Walker.

His co-defendant is Ailsa Jackson, who allegedly killed Catherine Walker by stabbing her multiple times with a kitchen knife.

The indictment alleges Michael Walker and Jackson exchanged emails and text messages about their plan to kill Catherine Walker and make it look like a burglary.

Jackson was indicted in April and has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say the government isn't seeking the death penalty for either defendant.

A hearing is scheduled Monday to discuss prosecutors' request to detain Michael Walker without bail.
