HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes of all time. But did you know she also moonlights as a superhero?  On her Facebook page, Serena shared the story that while at a Chinese restaurant with her pal her spidey senses began to tingle, as a man was sitting way too close.  When the man snatched her cellphone she chased the man down.   Serena notes that all those sprinting exercises came in handy as she leapt over chairs and dashed after the man.  She asked him if he had "accidentally" taken the wrong phone.  He agreed that he had taken the wrong phone and gave it back to her.  Serena included a photo of her dressed a super woman superhero.

A new porcelain bust of Queen Elizabeth II has some art critics being critical.  Celebrated Chinese sculptor Chen Dapeng made the artwork, which will be offered to the queen as a gift.  The bust, apparently based on an image of the Queen embossed on a tin of crackers, took three months and 12 tries by a dozen technicians to fire before a lucky 13th attempt held together.  The Daily Telegraph's art critic Mark Hudson has described the work as "rather out of proportion" and "looking a bit like Tom Hanks."

Kristi Yamaguchi is bringing a star-studded cast of figure skating national, world champions and past gold medalists from the US and Japan for a once-in-a-lifetime show.  It will benefit Early Childhood Literacy in Hawaii.  Now more entertainers have been added.  Select skating performances choreographed to live music by Hawaii's own Na Leo and ManoaDNA, opening performance from the Hawaii Figure Skating Club and and an opening number from Hawaii Recording Artist Aidan James;  Kristi?s 11-year-old daughter Keara will dance a hula and 9-year-old Emma will skate with Mom, Kristi.
That's November 20 & 21st at Blaisdell Arena; Hawaii News Now-Sunrise's Billy V will co-host on Friday, Hawaii Five-0 actor Daniel Dae Kim will co-host on Saturday.
