Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride Cycles Through the Aloha State

KAPOLEI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Soldier Ride® presented by USAA® will arrive on the island of Oahu November 5 for a three-day cycling event that helps injured service members overcome physical, mental, and emotional wounds. Injured veterans from across the country will have the opportunity to see Oahu’s world famous beaches and visit the historic site of Pearl Harbor.

“We know that visiting the site of Pearl Harbor will impact the wounded veterans in an emotional way, but we are excited that the riders will be able to connect with such a historical site while overlooking the beauty of Hawaii,” said Dan Schnock, director of Soldier Ride.

Soldier Ride gives wounded service members the opportunity to overcome the obstacles they have endured during combat through camaraderie and physical activity. This event is life changing for many and often acts as an introductory program for injured servicemen and servicewomen who then go on to conquer new challenges.  Participants will also engage in team building exercises such as kayaking and paddleboarding while enjoying one of Hawaii’s most popular islands.

All cycling equipment and activities are provided to WWP veterans at no cost through generous donation and the support of U-Haul, a founding partner of Soldier Ride, and TREK.
