Crews are wrapping up emergency repair work in the Wilson Tunnel this week, which will mean there will be daytime lane closures.

Both Honolulu-bound lanes of the Likelike Highway will be closed from the H-3 Freeway split through the Wilson Tunnel on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m. through Thursday at 4 a.m.

During these periods, crews will be removing concrete barriers from inside the tunnel.

Work is expected to be complete by Thursday, Nov. 4, and all lanes will reopen at 4 a.m.

The state kicked off the emergency repairs after a routine inspection found damage to stainless steel rods in the tunnel. The cost of the work is $1.3 million.
