HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Clouds, showers, haze and humidity are in the forecast for Halloween and the following few days.

Blame a stalled cold front to the northwest of the state for keeping winds light and mainly from the east-southeast. That will bring muggy conditions and some volcanic haze up over the islands Saturday into Sunday.

Showers are likely for trick-or-treating Halloween night, with the chance of showers increasing as the night goes along. It won’t be a washout, with rainfall totals around two-tenths of an inch, but you might need an umbrella as part of your costume.

Showers are even more likely for Sunday as a Kona low forms to the northwest of the state and pushes the front toward Kauai. That could bring some wet and unsettled weather to the Garden Isle and possibly Oahu by Monday. Meanwhile, it will still be pretty muggy through the middle of the week, when a delayed treat in the form of trade winds will return.
