Shark warning signs removed from North Shore surf spots

NORTH SHORE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Lifeguards have removed the shark warning signs that were posted earlier at Leftover Beach, Chun's Beach and near Waimea Bay following a report of an "aggressive" shark.

Two surfers told lifeguards at Leftovers Beach that a shark, estimated to be about 10 feet long, "chased" them into shore around 10:30 a.m. They were not injured. No further sightings occurred.

The scare comes a day after a shark attack off Makaha, which left a 10-year-old boy in serious condition.

Earlier this month, a surfer lost his leg in a shark attack off Leftovers Beach.
