Dozens of Waianae residents without water after valve break

WAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

About 110 Board of Water Supply customers are without water in Waianae Monday morning after a valve attached to a 16-inch water main burst around midnight, officials said.

BWS crews are working to fix the leak that occurred on Farrington Highway near Guard Street.

They’ve shutdown one westbound lane around the work site.

Motorists should expect delays and to use alternate routes where possible.

Repairs are expected to continue throughout the day.

A water wagon will be available at 85-041 Kaupuni Street to provide water to the affected customers.

Customers seeking additional updates should call the BWS at (808) 748-5000 extension 1.
