Second half collapse dooms Rainbow Warriors to 30-20 loss against Nevada

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Nevada Wolfpack outscored Hawaii 20-3 in the second half, including 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, and the Rainbow Warriors lost their fifth straight game on Saturday, 30-20.

The loss dropped Hawaii to 2-6 overall on the season. They remain winless within the Mountain West conference.

A week after leading New Mexico in the fourth quarter, Hawaii suffered another second half collapse against Nevada. The Rainbow Warriors led 17-10 at halftime, but managed just 3 points after the break.

Quarterback Max Wittek started the game with two touchdown passes in the first half, but threw three interceptions afterward. Hawaii turned the ball over four times total on Saturday, while the Wolfpack had just one.

Hawaii next plays at Aloha Stadium on Saturday against Air Force.
