Rainbow Wahine basketball team to hold free 'Green & White' scrimmage Friday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Fans of the Rainbow Wahine basketball team will get their first opportunity to check out the 2015-2016 team on Friday, when head coach Laura Beeman & Co. host the "Green and White" scrimmage.

Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. Admission is free to the public, and seating will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis.

The Green Team will be coached by assistant Alex Delanian, while the White Team will be lead by associate head coach Mary Wooley. Head coach Laura Beemanwill float between the two teams, the school says.

Last season, the Rainbow Wahine finished with a 23-9 record, including a 14-2 mark in the Big West conference. It made for Hawaii's most successful run since the 1997-98 season, highlighted by a 15-game win streak, the most since UH won 19-straight in 1997-98.
UH will also host an exhibition game against UH-Hilo on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center before officially opening the season on the road in Arizona against Grand Canyon (Nov. 13) and Northern Arizona (Nov. 15).
