AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Satellite City Hall at Pearlridge Center is closed Monday after reports of fumes coming from the ventilation system, according to officials.

The Honolulu Fire Department said Satellite City Hall employees were evacuated at around 9 a.m. after crews detected the fumes.

After ventilating the area and affected businesses, the situation was deemed under control by 9:35 a.m. There were no reports of injuries or illnesses.

HFD traced it back to roofing material being installed near the air conditioning unit. A similar incident occurred on Oct. 14 when more than a dozen people reported feeling nauseous from a chemical odor.

Those who need Satellite City Hall services can visit the Kapolei, Kalihi and Wahiawa locations.
