Siren testing takes place in Windward Oahu

KANEOHE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Windward residents may hear sirens Friday as the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency conducts siren testing through the day.

The siren testing will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at King Intermediate School and Aikahi Park in Kaneohe as well as Kaiona Beach Park in Waimanalo.

The public will hear the siren sound six to eight times for 30-second to 1-minute intervals during the identified timeframe. Testing will also include short blasts known as “burps.”
