Magnitude-3.9 quake rattles Big Island

VOLCANO, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck near Pu‘u O‘o on the Big Island Thursday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake occurred approximately 11 miles south of Fern Acres, the USGS said.

People across the Puna reported feeling the quake, which happened at around 8:40 p.m., but there were no reports of damage.

Coincidentally, this happened just hours after a statewide earthquake drill.
