Two men have been charged for first-degree attempted murder following an apparent drive-by shooting in the Hoolehua area Wednesday night, Maui County officials said.

Police said Chad Kaipo Naehu, 32, and Travis Torres, 26, turned themselves into the Molokai police station at around 10:15 p.m. for a shooting that occurred earlier in the day. Their bails have been set at $1 million each.

Sources say around 2:30 p.m., a 52-year-old man and 37-year-old man were in a yard near Puu Kapele Avenue when the shooting occurred. One of the victims sustained a gunshot wound in the neck, and the other was shot somewhere in his rear.

Both victims were flown to the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu where they are being treated for gunshot wounds.

Sources say the shooting may have been drug related.
