Flash Flood Warning expires for portion of Oahu

The Flash Flood Warning has expired.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the island of Oahu until noon on Monday.

At 9:04 a.m., gauge reports indicated heavy rain falling over Windward Oahu. Radar was showing rain falling at up to three inches per hour.

Locations In the warning include but are not limited to Kawela Bay, Maunawili, Waimanalo, Hauula, Kahuku, Waikane and Laie. 

The Flash Flood Warning may need to be extended if heavy rain persists. This warning replaces the previously issued advisory that was in effect for portions of the island of Oahu in Honolulu County.

    Nearly a year after a landslide in Kipahulu, repairs are getting underway to fix parts of Piilani Highway at the Nuanualoa Gulch. The repairs are part of a 7-month-long, nearly $2 million project. Daily road closures will begin February 5th as Hawaiian Dredging Construction crews bring in equipment to build a retaining wall, put up guard rails and complete other safety measures.
