HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The popular religious satire musical, "The Book of Mormon" is coming to Hawaii.

The wildly popular and nine-time Tony Award winning musical will play a three week run at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall next spring.

Written by "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, "The Book of Mormon" tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in Northern Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion.

Two of the cast members were in Honolulu on Tuesday for the announcement, and say they're looking forward to their trip to the islands.

"It's pretty cool how soon we're coming here," said A.J. Holmes, who plays Elder Cunningham. "The show just opened on Broadway 3 or 4 years ago and we've been on the road for 3 years. The cast is so excited to come here."

The show will run from April 13 until May 1, and will be the final stop on the tour.

Tickets are currently available for groups of 10 or more at the Hawaii Opera Theatre Box Office or groups can also call 808-593-9462.
