The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended a Flood Advisory until 2:30 a.m. Sunday for the entire Big Island.

Forecasters said at 11:14 p.m., radar indicated moderate to locally heavy rain affecting most areas of the Big Island. Earlier, rain reports over Laupahoehoe indicated rainfall accumulations of around two inches per hour.

The heaviest rain was affecting Waipio Valley and Kamuela, while additional heavy showers were moving into windward locations from Hilo to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Minor flooding is expected across the Big Island for the next several hours.

The advisory may be extended if the heavy rain persists.
