HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Hundreds of mourners bid farewell to kumu hula Leinaala Kalama Heine during an emotional tribute at Magic Island on Friday. She taught several generations of hula dancers through her award-winning Halau Na Pualei O Likolehua. She was also affectionately known as the "third brother" of the Brothers Cazimero, performing with them for 36 years.

"To not have her here any longer is to have such a missing part of me," said entertainer Robert Cazimero. "It's almost unbearable, the sadness, but I can still hear her saying, 'Bob, you gotta keep going.'"

Loved ones lined the shore, chanting and singing mele as the Hikianalia took Heine's ashes out to sea. The celebration of life continued at the Neal Blaisdell Center.

Heine died on September 9. She was 75 years old.
