HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The National Weather Service has extended a High Surf Advisory until 6 p.m. Sunday for north and east facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and the Big Island.

Forecasters said surf of 14 to 18 feet is expected along north-facing shores Saturday night, lowering slightly to 12 to 16 feet Sunday. Surf along east facing shores will remain at 6 to 10 feet.

Beachgoers should expect strong breaking waves, shore break, strong longshore and rip currents, making swimming difficult and dangerous.
