SAND ISLAND, OAHU (HAWAIINEWSNOW) - Quick thinking prevented what would have been an environmental mess off Sand Island on Thursday.
150 gallons of gasoline spilled around 6:30 p.m. when a fuel hose broke while two trucks were making a transfer across from the Coast Guard station.
Workers on scene immediately put down absorbent and blocked storm drains, preventing the fuel from getting into the ocean.
Honolulu fire crews responded to the scene and assisted with the clean up.
No injuries were reported.
