HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The eleventh tropical cyclone of the year is done. The Central Pacific Hurricane Center said Niala has weakened into a remnant low pressure area to the south of the islands.

At 5 p.m., what's left of Niala was located 405 miles south of Honolulu, or 315 miles southwest of South Point. It had maximum sustained winds of 30 miles per hour and was moving to the west-northwest at 9 miles per hour.

The low is forecast to continue weakening gradually until it dissipates on Wednesday.

The Central Pacific Hurricane Center will no longer issue advisories on the system unless it regenerates.
