MAILI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a home to go up in flames in Maili.
The two-alarm fire happened on Maipela Street just before 8:30 Friday morning.
One woman got out without injury, and firefighters got the blaze under control in about an hour.
According to HFD Capt. David Jenkins, 12 companies with 32 personnel responded to the fire, which sparked in a metal structure.
"This is a quonset unit, it's not your typical wood frame home," said Capt. Gerald Pacheco of the Honolulu Fire Department. "Because it's metal and shaped in a curve, it acted like an oven. So it was a little hot."
The Red Cross is helping the residents.
