Flash Flood Warning expires for portions of Big Island

The Flash Flood Warning has expired.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flash Flood Warning for The Island of Hawaii in Hawaii County until midnight. 

At 8:56 p.m., Hawaii County Civil Defense reported that the Mamalahoa Highway remains closed at Kawa flats due to water over the road. Law enforcement on scene reports that water is not receding and that rain has begun to fall once again.

This warning may need to be extended beyond Midnight if Heavy Rain persists.
