Puna woman arrested after found in stolen truck

PUNA, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Puna woman was arrested after she was found driving a stolen truck, Big Island police said.

Police arrested 23-year-old Ashley Grammer in Ainaloa on Monday after finding her in the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was reported stolen from a parking lot on Old Volcano Road on Aug. 25, according to officers.

Grammer was also arrested for contempt of court.

Upon obtaining a search warrant, detectives then found a substance resembling crystal methamphetamine in the truck.

Grammer was charged with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and possessing an imitation substance. Her bail was set at $2,500.

Her initial court appearance on these charges is scheduled for Wednesday.
