HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The driver of an 18-wheeler jackknifed her truck inside the Harano Tunnel, Kaneohe-bound, forcing police to close all lanes of the H-3 heading east Tuesday morning. The accident happened around 9 a.m.
The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but had been walking around the accident scene and appeared to be uninjured.
All lanes were closed while crews cleaned up an estimated 40 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled onto the road. Tow companies also struggled to maneuver the large vehicle out of the way.
All lanes of the H-3 freeway were reopened shortly after 3 p.m.
