HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Disney and the American Red Cross are hoping pillowcases will teach keiki how to be more prepared.
The "Pillowcase Project" is a preparedness education program for children in grades 3-5, and teaches students about personal and family preparedness, local hazards, and basic coping skills.
Following a 60 minute presentation by the Red Cross, students receive a sturdy pillowcase upon completion of the program and are encouraged to build their own personal emergency supply kit.
Presentations are being held in schools, after-school programs, and Girl and Boy Scout troop meetings.
