HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii is breaking ground today on a new Culinary Institute campus. This will be on the slopes of Diamond Head.
The first semester is underway for the new Kona campus. The Palamanui campus is located above the Kona International Airport. This is the first time students on the west side of the island will have the opportunity to be in a 'permanent campus' location.
There are flooding issues at the West Oahu campus. Officials are working on repairs to their library after heavy rains flooded the building.
A technology conference is coming to the Convention Center later this month. This is a matter of interest for UH President David Lassner, whose background is in Information Technology. The conference will take place on September 23-24.
UH President David Lassner discussed these topics and more in an appearance on "Sunrise" this morning with Howard Dicus.
