MAUI, Hawaii (AP) - The state Department of Transportation will begin work on three projects in Maui County after Labor Day.
The Maui News reports that the Honoapiilani Highway will be resurfaced at the Kaanapali Parkway intersection on Tuesday through Friday. Drivers are warned of alternating single-lane closures on the southbound lanes on those days between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
The second project entails roadway construction on Old Haleakala Highway between Aalele Street and Kala Road. The work will cause lane shifts in both directions and motorists are asked to use caution. The department tells the newspaper that there will be officials on site to direct drivers.
Lastly, bridge maintenance and repairs on Waiehu Beach Road between Kuhio Place and Eha Street will cause some lane closures in both directions between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
