Flood Advisory issued for portion of Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flood Advisory for the island of Oahu until 3:15 p.m. Friday.

At 12:12 p.m., radar showed heavy rain along a line extending from Pupukea to Makakilo. This area of heavy rain was nearly stationary. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible with these showers and thunderstorms.

Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Kaena Point, Dillingham Field, Makua Valley, Waianae, Waialua, Nanakuli, Mokuleia, Makaha, Makaha Valley, Maili and Haleiwa.

A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for all Hawaiian Islands until 6 p.m. Friday.

This advisory may need to be extended if heavy rain persists.
