HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Veteran journalist Denby Fawcett was honored earlier this summer in Washington, D.C. by the Newseum. It's a large interactive museum that is dedicated to educating the public about our First Amendment rights. She was on a select panel of women who battled sexism that was rampant in newsrooms in the 1960's by going in the middle of a war zone.
Fawcett spoke of the challenges that women faced, but also pointed out that she was able to gain valuable experience in her career. She describes what it was like as a female reporter live on Sunrise this morning.
