The Flood Advisory has expired.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu issued a Flood Advisory for Maui until 2:45 p.m. Thursday.
At 11:42 a.m., radar showed heavy rain near Waihee, or about 8 miles northwest of Kahului. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary. Most of the rainfall is concentrated over the windward slopes of the West Maui Mountains and Haleakala.
Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Napili, Kapalua, Kahakuloa, Honolua and Honokohau. This advisory may need to be extended if heavy rain persists.
A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for all islands through midnight.
