Flood Advisory issued for portion of Big Island

HILO, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flood Advisory for the island of Hawaii in Hawaii County until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

At 3:12 p.m., radar showed heavy rain near Mountain View, or about 10 miles south of Hilo, moving east at 10 mph.

Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Laupahoehoe, Pepeekeo, Papaikou, Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Pahoa, Mountain View, and Volcano.

This advisory may need to be extended if heavy rain persists.
