ARA FAME program National competition recognition

The American Renaissance Academy (ARA) FAME program is proud to announce the awards and results for the 2105 National Spotlight Dance Cup competition in Las Vegas. In their very first National Competition, their Novice dancers were the winners of the National Ruby award for their dance number “Gift of a Friend”. This routine is comprised of one returning FAME member and 4 new members, 3 of whom have never danced before. Under the guidance and teachings of Philip Amer Kelly-Crawford; Lainey Collado, Cassidy Karins, Samantha Peck, Karena Ballard and Kiana Tanizaki-Hudaon worked very hard this year to achieve such a high honor. Also this year in the same competition, 3 of their FAME students made the final 4 in the vocal portion. Under the guidance and teachings of Gavin Vinta; Lainey Collado, placed 4th, Romy Heart Collado placed 3rd and Brianna Heresa is the 2015 West Coast National champion. Also the FAME program as a whole were this years recipients of the West Coast National’s sportsmanship award.

The American Renaissance Academy (ARA) School for the Performing Arts (FAME Program) offers an accelerated, modified academic and performing arts program for students in grades 6-12 who are serious about developing talents in the performing arts, including dance, acting, vocals and musical theatre. Students are selected based on audition and academic readiness. FAME students study core academics for the first part of the school day and engage in intensive performing arts training in the afternoon. Students meet Fine Arts and Physical Education graduation requirements through participation in the FAME Program.
