HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service a Flood Advisory for Kauai until 3 p.m.
At 11:48 a.m. radar showed slow-moving heavy showers developing over the lower slopes of most of Kauai. The heaviest rain with rain rates between 2 and 3 inches per hour is falling on the southern through eastern through northern portions of the island, upslope from communities from Pakala to Kalaheo to Wailua to Hanalei.
Other heavy showers developing over the interior will lead to rapid rises in stream levels.
This advisory is for the entire island of Kauai.
A flash flood watch is also in effect until late tonight. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 300 pm hst if heavy rain persists.
