Local vendors to show products at commissary trade show

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Chocolate, coconut water, crackers, coffee, local-style noodles, and baked goods will be among some of the foods presented by 65 companies at the 18th annual American Logistics Hawaii show, August 18, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, Waikiki.

The annual business-to-business show provides Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and Army & Air Force Exchange service (AAFES) officials the opportunity to taste-test local products and to interact one-on-one with Hawaii business owners before recommending products for commissary and exchange shelves. DeCA and Exchange store directors and buyers will be in attendance.

According to Sharon Zambo-Fan, ALA Hawaii show chairwoman, "More than 175,000 military service members, retirees and family members live in Hawaii, making the commissary and exchange business a significant market for local companies."
