The threat for severe weather looms over the Big Island again today. This is what Hi'ilawe falls in Waipio Valley looked like yesterday. 

Normally, it's just a light waterfall.  Firefighters had to air lift 14 people in two separate groups...who were trapped by raging rivers on the Lalakea trail.

Jill Bolstridge was one of those people who got stranded.  She documented the entire ordeal, and then posted all the clips on youtube. 

I should let you know that I know her personally. She's my son's drama teacher. She went out for an ATV ride, but then heavy rain started falling.. And you can see how fast and powerful the river started running; see the brown water?  That's already a bad sign...
