Flood Advisory expires for Windward Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of Windward Oahu until 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Forecasters said at 11 p.m. Monday, radar showed heavy rain developing near Hauula and Kaaawa. The areas of heavy rain were nearly stationary.

Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Punaluu, Turtle Bay, Pupukea, Laie and Kahuku.

A Flash Flood Warning had been posted for the area, but that has been allowed to expire. Kamehameha Highway between Waikane Valley Road and Waiahole Valley Road was reopened shortly after 11 p.m. after waters rose on the highway. Those waters have since receded.

The flood advisory may be extended if heavy rains persist.
