Maui police identify man who died in officer-involved shooting

KAHULUI, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The man who died last Wednesday after a police-involved shooting at Keopuolani Park has been identified as Raymond Hodge, according to Maui police.
Police said the 39-year-old was impersonating an officer when he fired at police with a handgun. Officers then returned fire, killing Hodge. He was hit 11 times and at least 50 shell casings were recovered from the scene, according to police.
Officers first arrived on scene at around 9 p.m. after responding to a suspicious activity complaint.
