HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - For the first time in 20 years, the UH women's volleyball team will open their season with no title to defend.
After winning their conference for 19 consecutive years -- the Rainbow Wahine's streak was ended last season by an undefeated Long Beach State Squad.
Tomorrow morning the team will open their 41st season under Head Coach Dave Shoji, who is poised to once again lead them to the top of the Big West.
The team will return a number of starters from last year...most notably All Conference First Team selections Nikki Taylor, Tai Manu Olevao,
and all American honorable mention selection Olivia Magill, who led the big west in both blocks and hitting percentage last season.
