Police have reopened several streets in Lanai City after a bomb team from Oahu destroyed a bag full of suspected explosives.
Around noon on Monday, police say a man found an old canvas bag in a storage shed with suspected dynamite, fuses and blasting caps.
He then put it in his pickup truck and called police while he was driving. Police told the man to pull over immediately.
A large area was cordoned off while police waited for the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit to arrive from Oahu to dispose of the dynamite.
Roads were reopened at 8:30 p.m. and the suspected explosives were destroyed by 9:20 p.m.
