The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will send their ship, the Okeanos Explorer, on a two month-long expedition. The ship is scheduled to set sail in areas around the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands from July 31 to September 29.
Scientists are looking forward to new discoveries as they will explore the Pacific.
"We're literally going to depths that we've never been before and as a result we will see things that people have never seen before," said Dr. Daniel Wagner, the science co-lead for the expedition.
People will be able to follow the Okeanos Explorer's journey via live stream. To view the expedition, visit: www.oceanexplorer.noaa.gov
