T.D. Eight-E weakens, now just a remnant low

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Post-Tropical Cyclone Eight-E is continuing on a westward track into the Central Pacific but has become a remnant low and is expected to dissipate by Friday.

The National Hurricane Center said at 5 a.m. Thursday, the former Eight-E was approximately 1,055 miles east of Hilo and was moving west at 13 mph. It had maximum sustained winds of 30 mph with higher gusts. It is forecast to dissipate Thursday.
