WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - Police say a pedestrian who was struck by a car driven by an 11-year-old boy in Kahului has died.
The Maui News reports that the 87-year-old Haiku woman died Sunday at Maui Memorial Hospital one day after she was knocked to the ground by a white sedan the boy was backing up in the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center parking lot.
The 1999 Mitsubishi Galant kept moving and hit the left side of a Honda that was stopped behind it.
The Wailuku boy and the driver of the Honda did not report any injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash and did not identify the woman Sunday.
