(RNN) - An Oklahoma man known as the “atomic wedgie” killer was sentenced to 30 years in prison Thursday.

Brad Lee Davis, a 35-year-old former Marine, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for killing his stepfather on Dec. 21, 2013.

Pottawatomie County District Judge John G. Canavan Jr. rejected Davis' plea for a second chance.

Davis told investigators he gave his stepfather a wedgie, a term used for a humiliating underwear-yanking prank like someone in high school would do, according to The Oklahoman.

Denver Lee St. Clair, 58, died after being knocked unconscious, and the elastic band of his underwear was pulled over his head, strangling him.

The judge said Davis took disturbing cellphone photos of his stepfather while he was unconscious and in distress.

Prosecutors said Davis beat his stepfather and made it look like it was an aggressive fight.

Davis told the judge in May the fistfight was started after his stepfather insulted his mother. He said his stepfather was a bully, and he only meant to embarrass him.
