The brush fire that broke out behind the Lihue Airport this morning at around 8:21 a.m. this morning was deemed under control at approximately 1:20 p.m. this afternoon.
County and state firefighters along with Rescue 3, a battalion chief, personnel from the Department of Public Works and the State Department of Transportation continue to fight the fire.
