A beloved Pearl City restaurant will be shutting down for good this weekend.
Flamingo Restaurant on Kamehameha Highway will close after 65 years, owners said, citing Honolulu rail construction as one of the reasons.
The restaurant is probably best known for its oxtail soup and banana pie, and has remained a local favorite from the start.
Over the past year, many business owners have complained about rail construction impacting their operations, including Tanioka’s on Farrington Highway in Waipahu.
Flamingo Restaurant's last day of business is Sunday.
