Celebrate Korean culture at the 14th Annual Korean Festival at Ala Moana Beach Park

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Come and experience Korean culture from the past and the present at the 14th Annual Korean Festival.  As one of the largest cultural festivals of the year in Hawaii, the Korean Festival will once again have the best flavors of Korea, entertainment and culture exhibits.  Organizers expect over 30,000 people to attend.

The festival will run from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015. The Korean Festival presents a unique, authentic taste of Korean culture through food, dance, art, music, and entertainment. The program of festival events includes performances such as taekwondo (Korean martial arts) demonstration, Korean fan and drum dances, and a Korean song contest.

The festival also provides interactive activities, such as Korean cooking lessons from talented chefs from the community, and the festival favorite kim chi eating contest. Attendees have enjoyed perusing through the various unique products and services available in the product tents, and savored their favorite Korean foods, such as kalbi (BBQ shortribs), tteokbokki (small rice cakes in spicy sauce), and mandoo (dumpling).  This festival is a culinary delight for those who enjoy Korean foods.

Also part of the festival is a talent show with a grand prize of round trip tickets to Seoul from Korean Airlines. To enter the Korean Festival talent show, contact Mark Sim at (808) 230-7255.
