A post-tropical cyclone moving toward the Hawaiian islands is expected to bring high surf, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a high surf advisory for east-facing shores.
The advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
Surf is expected to reach 6 to 8 feet along east-facing shores, forecasters said.
Beachgoers should expect strong breaking waves and strong currents, which will make swimming difficult and dangerous.
